Mercedes-Benz has recalled over 85,000 vehicles in the US and 22,000 in Britain because of potential power steering problems.
The recall affects C-Class Model 204, E-Class Model 212 and 2010-11 E-Class Coupe and Cabriolet Model 207 cars which were made between last June to this February.
Mercedes-Benz said, “Owners may not have sufficient control of the vehicle in areas, such as parking, where maximum power steering is required, and could lead to a vehicle crash.”
Rob Halloway Mercedes Benz UK spokesman said, ”We are checking every single car and writing to all affected owners inviting them to bring their vehicles in to their local dealer.”
He added that the repair work would take no longer than half an hour.
Owners can contact Mercedes-Benz at 1-800-367-6372 or call the NHTSA’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153).
