Apple is holding a press conference on this Friday to discuss the iPhone 4 on its campus in Cupertino. According to MSNBC.com reports, Apple will be hosting an iPhone 4 press conference Friday at 10 a.m. Pacific time. The press conference is likely to be about the iPhone 4’s antenna problems.
“Apple will host a press conference to discuss the iPhone 4,” said a company representative. The meeting will take place at the company’s Cupertino campus at 10 a.m. Pacific time on Friday. Though no further details were provided, we assume that the conference will address concerns that the iPhone 4’s antenna design causes increased dropped calls, and whether or not Apple will take action to remedy the issue.
The press conference is coming on the heels of a Consumer Reports story confirming that “there is a problem with its (the iPhone 4) reception.”
Consumer Reports will not recommend the phone until Apple fixes its antenna problem. Consumer Reports also says that, “Apple should repair the phones at no extra charge to consumers.” Bernstein Research analyst Toni Sacconagh says that’ “An iPhone 4 recall would cost Apple $1.5 billion.”
There has also been reports that Apple might issue a recall though it is pure speculation. Consumer Reports has confirmed that putting Apple’s bumper or “duct tape” on the antenna will remedy the situation
