Today is the start of the tax free weekend 2010 in Texas which will run from August 20 – 22. This is a great opportunity to receive discount from the government.
Parents who are looking to buy school supplies as like as Calculators, Binders, Composition books, Lunch boxes, Pens, Writing tablets etc. it is an fine effort to give them economic relief because there is no sales tax applied to certain items during the entire tax holiday.
According to the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, the zero tax weekends will begin at “12:01 am on the third Friday in August and ends at 12:00 am (midnight) of the following Sunday.”
They also said that, “Texas shoppers get a break from state and local sales taxes on August 20, 21 and 22 – the state’s annual tax holiday. Lay-away plans can be used again this year to take advantage of the sales tax holiday.”
If we have a look at Tax Free Weekend 2009, we can say it is a great opportunity for shoppers to save money on clothes and shoes during the tax free weekend.
