Oregon unemployment rate is 10.6 percent which is the 7th highest in U.S. Nation’s unemployment rate is 9.5 percent. Jobless rate in Oregon is still 1 percent above than nation’s unemployment rate.
In the week ending Aug. 14 new weekly claims for jobless benefits rose 12,000 to 500,000 which is the highest level since mid-November, 2009.
The Obama administration is providing more relief for jobless homeowners.
Canada’s strong economic recovery lost steam in July as the country dropped 139,000 full-time jobs and the unemployment rate edged up to 8 percent.
