Weekly Jobless Claims Hit 500,000 Nine Month High
In the week ending Aug. 14 new weekly claims for jobless benefits rose 12,000 to 500,000 which is the highest level since mid-November, 2009.
Unemployment Rate Rises in Canada
Canada’s strong economic recovery lost steam in July as the country dropped 139,000 full-time jobs and the unemployment rate edged up to 8 percent.
