The owner of the Segway company Jimi Heselden, 62, has been found dead on Sunday after riding his Segway Personal Transporter off a cliff in the U.K.
On Monday police said, The British millionaire businessman who owns the firm Segway has been found dead at the bottom of a cliff with one of the two-wheeled electric scooters near his body.
According to the BBC, The engineering company tycoon tumbled into the River Wharfe while driving his self-balancing scooter on his estate in northern England and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A family spokesman said, “There is absolutely nothing to suggest it was anything other than a tragic accident.”
On Sunday at about 11.40 am, a passer-by found Heselden alongside his Segway in the Boston Spa area.
He was the chairman of Hesco Bastion. Hesco Bastion said in a statement, “It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Jimi Heselden has died in a tragic accident near his home in West Yorkshire.”
On the Sunday Times Rich List, Heselden was worth £166m and ranked 395th. According to media reports, Heselden was one of the richest men in Britain.
